The Storyline

The slightly eccentric American archaeologist Dr. Davis specialises in palaeoanthropology.
His research concentrates on finding the missing link; the quantum jump in the development of mankind to Homo Sapiens. Davis departs on a several month long trip as a guest lecturer to the provincial, English university town of Leicester, where his rather scant theory is met upon with doubt and misunderstanding.

Suddenly a series of strange events occur close to Leicester. Crop circles are discovered near the university.

Davis investigates the phenomenon closer from the perspective of his generally ridiculed scientific theory. An adventurous trip through Guatemala begins. After a perilous trek through the rainforest and foothills, Davis discovers a surprising link between the corn circles, the temples of the Maya culture and the mystery of the missing link.
